Building Memphis 2019 finalists announced
How do you measure a city’s progress?
One main gauge is by its built environment.
Each year, as part of the Building Memphis awards, Memphis Business Journal honors the latest developments transforming the Mid-South community as well as the people who look at a blighted building or a piece of land and see its potential.
The 2019 honorees stretch from Downtown Memphis to Collierville, North Mississippi to Bartlett, and lots of places in between. Collectively, they serve as a bellwether for the area’s current economic health.

Finalists are broken into two categories: best renovation and best new construction. Those categories are then segmented by total spend. Winners in each category will initially be announced at the Building Memphis Awards; an overall Project of the Year award will also be selected from the pool of finalists.
The 2019 awards will also feature the inaugural Building Memphis LEED Award, selected by the U.S. Green Building Council based on recent LEED certification.
Projects, along with their owners/developers, architects, engineers, contractors, interior designers, and financers will be honored Tuesday, Feb. 19, at a ceremony at the Memphis Botanic Gardens from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
