Hernando, Mississippi
This project is a current example of Allen & Hoshall’s ability to design a large, modern, and highly visible community education facility with significant design, coordination, and schedule demands from the ground up. In describing the project, Senator Michael McLendon referred to the new Hernando High School as “the crown jewel of Mississippi high schools.”
Allen & Hoshall provided full design services for the new high school serving the Hernando community. The 215,000 SF facility includes academic classrooms, administrative offices, a gymnasium, library, cafeteria and kitchen, athletic facilities, band hall, and a full auditorium designed to support both school and community use.
The project is situated on a 93-acre site and includes comprehensive site design encompassing utilities, roadways, parking, drainage, and grading. Athletic site improvements include a football stadium with track and field, baseball, softball, and soccer fields, as well as a dedicated athletic support building. Additional site amenities include ticket booths, concession and restroom facilities, and complete site and field lighting.
