In 2005, the Memphis Housing Authority was awarded $20 million in federal HOPE VI funding for the project.
Allen & Hoshall provided engineering and construction administration services for the Legends Park mixed income housing development, situated on the site of the former Dixie Homes housing project. The project was developed in three construction phases and includes 405 units of multi-family housing, several small parks and a 45,000 sq. ft. mixed-use building known as Quimby Plaza.
The project included a 90 kW solar panel system for Legends Park – West which was installed on over 40+ rooftops.
The project is design to ENERGY STAR standards.
