Allen & Hoshall provided complete Design and Construction Administration Services for the construction of a 161/69 kV Substation. This station was necessary to meet the growing power demands on the west side of Washington County. The construction phase lasted 15 months including equipment procurement.
The design included a 161 kV loop feed from TVA’s transmission system, 161 kV substation breaker, 161 kV and 69 kV transformer interrupting devices, two 161/69 kV power transformers, three 69 kV feeder breakers and an underground 69 kV feeder to an adjacent 69/13 kV substation. The design also included provisions for a third power transformer and two spare feeder bays.
