  • In 2000, this building was the first multi-story office building exclusively designed by a Memphis design firm in almost 20 years.
  • ALSAC Headquarters: Allen & Hoshall provided architectural and engineering services for the Tamer-Rashid Building. ALSAC is the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
  • In 1990, the Memphis City Council voted 9-4 in favor of this $34.9 Million project located in the heart of downtown Memphis.
  • Main Street Mall Trolley Project: Allen & Hoshall provided project management and engineering services for the trolley project. In 1997, our staff also provided design services for the Riverfront Loop Trolley Extension.
  • Completed in 1998, this facility is the current location of Allen & Hoshall's Corporate Headquarters.
  • The Colonnade: Allen & Hoshall provided architectural and engineering design services for the 92,500 sq. ft. office building in East Memphis.
  • Completed in 2007, this vital part of the downtown infrastructure included the removal of structures that were abandoned due to a United States Supreme Court decision in 1971.
  • I-40/I-240 Mid-City Interchange: Allen & Hoshall provided program management and engineering services for the $63,000,000 urban interchange that included new interstate roadway, bridge construction, pedestrian improvements, and removal of bridges that were an abandoned part of the proposed Interstate 40 segment through Overton Park which would have connected at Sam Cooper Boulevard.
  • Opened to the public in 2017, this project was recipient of numerous local and international awards and is the longest active rail/bicycle/pedestrian bridge in the country.
  • Big River Crossing: Allen & Hoshall served as the Technical Manager of the Main Street to Main Street Multi-modal Connector project which included a new pathway on the historic Harahan Bridge.
  • Completed in 2019, the $280 million master campus plan is one of the largest transformation projects in the history of the Memphis Medical District.
  • Shorb Tower: Allen & Hoshall provided structural and civil engineering for the new 440,000 sq. ft. tower and parking plaza.

  • Completed in 1963, the $6.5 million facility is know for its unique architectural design.
  • Memphis International Airport: Allen & Hoshall provided engineering services for the original terminal building as well as landside and airside paving. Our experience at the airport has included design and construction management services for over $500,000,000 of development.
  • At 332 feet, this building is the 6th tallest skyscraper in Memphis.
  • Completed in 1964, Allen & Hoshall provided engineering services for the First National Bank which is now known as First Tennessee.
  • Memphis was originally laid out with four town squares. This building was built on the Exchange Town Square in 1974.
  • Cook Convention Center: Allen & Hoshall provided mechanical engineering services for the facility which was the 18th largest in the country at the time of completion.
  • Completed in 1975, this project included the First Solar Heating System in Memphis.
  • V.A. Medical Center: Allen & Hoshall has provided engineering services for numerous expansions and renovations at the V.A. Medical Center such as the VA Nursing Home which featured the first Solar Heating System in Memphis and the recently completed Entrance Project.
  • The facility was the result of a comprehensive study completed by Allen & Hoshall in 1968 to address an increased emphasis on environmental protection and pollution control.
  • T.E. Maxson Wastewater Treatment Plant: In 1974, Allen & Hoshall provided design services for the plant which was the first treatment facility in Memphis. Prior to the Maxson Plant, all wastewater was dumped untreated into rivers, creeks, and ditches.
  • Completed 1982, the 9-story facility includes 2 levels underground and cost $48M.
  • Methodist University Hospital: Allen & Hoshall provided engineering services for the 9-story North Tower which included 280 beds for for critical and acute care, nuclear medicine, and viral laboratories. Recent Methodist University Hospital experience includes the Emergency Department and the recently completed Campus Expansion.

  • Built in 1893, this building was constructed next to the city dump. It was the most photographed building in the city, appearing on more postcards than any other landmark.
  • Cossitt Public Library: Allen & Hoshall provided engineering services for heating, plumbing, and electrical systems. The only vestiges of the old structure are the sandstone wall surrounding the building and the rear addition.
  • Built in 1924, the facility included a state-of-the-art movable stage that was entirely electric. It only took 12 hours to move.
  • Memphis Municipal Auditorium: Allen & Hoshall provided engineering services for HVAC additions in 1950. Notable performances included the Harlem Globetrotters’ record-setting sales and Elvis’s first sold-out show. The last performance was Bruce Springsteen in November 1996 before the building was razed in 1999 to make room for the new Cannon Center for Performing Arts.
  • Built in 1927, the building was modeled after the Doges’ Palace in Venice.
  • Memphis Steam Laundry: In 1954, Allen & Hoshall provided engineering services for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing upgrades for the building. The building was demolished in 1973. The Med stands on the site today.
  • Completed in 1942, this building became home to the famous bomber, The Memphis Belle.
  • Memphis Armory: Allen & Hoshall provided engineering services for heating, plumbing, and electrical systems. Today the building is home to the Children’s Museum of Memphis.
  • Completed in 1958, the award-winning building's design was selected by world-famous architects Paul Rudolph and Philip Johnson in an international competition.
  • Memphis Academy of Art: Allen & Hoshall provided engineering services for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for this facility which is located within the 342-acre Overton Park.
  • Completed in 1949, the 20 acres site on Walnut Grove was purchased for $25,000.
  • Chapel of Holy Communion: Allen & Hoshall provided engineering services for heating, electrical, and plumbing systems for this facility located at the corner of Walnut Grove and Perkins Avenue.

  • Developed in the 1920s, most of the streets in this historic neighborhood are named after different native American tribes.
  • Chickasaw Gardens: Allen & Hoshall provided engineering services for Chickasaw Gardens. Some features of the development were originally constructed as part of Clarence Saunders’ elaborate estate garden.
  • The original facility opened in 1829 on Union Avenue at the current site of Forrest Park. In 1898 the original building was demolished and rebuilt on Madison Avenue.
  • City Hospital: Allen & Hoshall provided plumbing and electrical upgrades for the City Hospital in 1925.
  • The facility was completed in 1913 at a cost of $336,072.
  • Central High School: Allen & Hoshall provided engineering services for the steam heating system of Central High School which was originally named Memphis High School or "The High School".
  • Completed in 1929, this facility was the first air-conditioned, commercial building in Memphis.
  • Commerce & Trust Bank: Allen & Hoshall provided engineering services for the air-conditioning system of the Commerce & Trust Bank which was later known as the National Bank of Commerce.
