The Chattanooga Airport has been awarded the 2025 Commercial Service Airport Architectural Project of the Year following the expansion of its terminal.
The award is by the Southeast Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives (SEC-AAAE) and recognizes the airport’s terminal renovation and expansion project.
A spokesperson for the airport said the $28-million project added 26,000 square feet of new terminal space and renovated an additional 36,000 square feet, introducing two new gates, an additional passenger loading bridge, and an expanded TSA checkpoint.
The initiative also added new restrooms and concessions along with a business center that is powered by EPB’s 10 Gig Wi-Fi.
Airport officials said the project was finished in March of 2024 and significantly enhanced the airport’s capacity and passenger experience.
“This project was about more than modernizing infrastructure — it was about preparing for our future as a regional economic engine,” said April Cameron, President & CEO of CHA. “We’re honored that our peers in the industry recognize the significance and impact of this transformation.”
The award was presented during the SEC-AAAE Annual Conference, which was held March 23-25 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
