Collierville, Tennessee
Allen & Hoshall provided engineering and design services for the new 48,991 sq. ft., 2 story, glass exterior facility including associated water features, green space parking, and access roads. The headquarters sits on 64 acres and includes 98 office spaces, a 49-seat training center, six conference rooms and an in-house datacenter.
The U.S. Green Building Council has given AOC LLC’s new headquarters building a LEED Silver certification, making it the first such building in Collierville. The AOC facility got its certification due to its geothermal HVAC system, building materials with recycled or renewable content, regionally produced construction materials, pollution prevention during construction, a reflective roof that eliminates heat buildup, maximum use of ambient lighting, recycling facilities, water-saving systems and incentives for employees to use low-emitting vehicles and bicycles. The building conserves 30 percent more energy and water than similar non-LEED buildings, leading to lower operating costs.
Since the construction of the initial facility in 2010, Allen & Hoshall has provide design services for the renovation of the 1st and 2nd Floor Research and Development Labs.
“From inception, we wanted our global headquarters to reflect our continuous commitment to the environment. Sustainability is a critical corporate objective and is reflected in our headquarters, products and manufacturing facilities.” AOC chairman and CEO Randy Weghorst
